Osa Peninsula & Costa Ballena

Jungle Lodges & Coastal Luxury Tours

Awaken Your Senses

The South Pacific coast of Costa Rica is a remote jungle paradise, where pristine beaches, lush rainforest, and extraordinary biodiversity await travelers seeking exclusive off-the-beaten-path experiences. Costa Ballena spans 35 kilometers and includes Dominical, Uvita, and Ojochal—towns filled with waterfalls, jungle trails, nature reserves, and abundant wildlife. Overlooking the coast, verdant mountains create a dramatic backdrop for both adventure and relaxation.

Drake Bay is a secluded gem in the South Pacific—ideal for adventurers drawn to vibrant coral reefs, crystal-clear waters, and access to Corcovado National Park (via San Pedrillo or Sirena sectors), as well as Caño Island for snorkeling and diving. Puerto Jiménez serves as the gateway to Corcovado’s Los Patos or La Leona sectors, while Golfo Dulce offers dolphin and whale watching, sport fishing, and mangrove exploration.

Given the region’s remote nature, many boutique lodges offer inclusive packages that feature guided wildlife tours, curated jungle hikes, boat or kayak adventures, and immersive nature experiences.

Where Luxury Finds You

Wiköl Travel offers stays in exclusive jungle lodges, private guided wildlife tours, and curated nature experiences—jungle treks at dawn, snorkeling in untouched reefs, and secluded coastline dining—that deliver a remote and unforgettable immersion into some of Costa Rica’s most untouched landscapes.

Clarity for the Curious

Wiköl offers two seamless ways to reach this remote region. You can take a scenic domestic flight (approx. 1 hour) from San José to either Drake Bay or Puerto Jiménez. Alternatively, for a more immersive route, drive or transfer to Sierpe, followed by a boat ride through mangroves and the Pacific coast. We arrange all logistics privately, depending on your preferred pace and comfort level.

The dry stretch from December to April is optimal for hiking and nature access. For marine wildlife highlights like whale watching and turtle nesting, July through October is prime. Wiköl helps you design the best itinerary based on seasonal highlights and your travel style.

Access depends on your chosen route. Some luxury eco-lodges are only reachable by boat via Sierpe or require short domestic flights. If driving, a 4×4 is strongly recommended, especially during the green season or when roads are rough. Wiköl arranges appropriate vehicles or transfers per route conditions, based on your preferred level of independence and adventure.

This region is Costa Rica’s most biodiverse—and Wiköl brings you front row. Enjoy private guided treks through Corcovado National Park (Sirena, San Pedrillo, or La Leona sectors), snorkeling or diving at Caño Island, kayaking in mangrove estuaries, or observing scarlet macaws, sloths, dolphins, and humpback whales in their natural habitat—all curated to your pace and comfort.

Yes—many of the finest eco-lodges offer all-inclusive stays with meals, tours, and private transport. Due to limited daily permits for Corcovado and Caño Island, advance booking is essential, especially during peak travel months. Wiköl Travel secures access, ensures seamless coordination, and selects the most exclusive accommodations to match your preferences.
